Escaping
It reads "...were reportedly locked, which prevented workers from escaping...", which is supposed to mean escaping the fire. If they were locked in to prevent them from leaving during their shift, that should be stated separately. I just changed it to "...from escaping the fire..." Modify it as you see fit.
