Editors, I have created the stub article; please add to it. Please make any needed corrections, for example, what is the exact time period of the album's composition, and what is the exact record label? —Prhartcom (talk) 14:01, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tour dates?

Should these be included? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.175.37.54 (talk) 14:43, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Actual Production Name

I have been working on a non-wiki related project which brought me into contact with the Admins for JWTWOTW. I thought I would share this piece of information I received in an email.:

I hope you are well.

The full name of the stage production is:

Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of The Worlds The New Generation - Alive on Stage!

If you could note the capitals in all but three words too, that would be great.

Thanks for checking,

it would be nice if this was mentioned at least somewhere. Its up to you. Personally, I only mention it because names are important, and the Jeff Wayne team have been good to me.

I hate thinking of names (talk) 00:22, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hologram?

I know that the projection of Liam Neeson is described in all the marketing as holographic, but is that really true? As far as I'm aware, holographic movie projection technology doesn't actually exist yet. Youtube has some recordings of clips made by audience members at this show, and as best I can make out, it's simply an ordinary 2D projection onto a screen that rises out of the stage when needed. Philgp (talk) 12:26, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I saw one of the Youtube clips[1] (30:20) you're describing and it appears you are right, it looks like ordinary 2D projection! Notably, you can see the screen. Now take a look at another Youtube clip of a much more impressive holographic projection: The late Tupac interacting with Snoop Dogg.[2] (2:20) Finally, let's review Wikipedia's Holography article, section titled: Things often confused with holograms, including the phrase "rear-projecting realistic images into semi-transparent screens." I claim only to be an editor and not an expert in these matters, neither do I wish to add any WP:OR, but I do find your observation interesting. Perhaps expert editors will contribute. —Prhartcom (talk) 14:05, 30 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Voice of Humanity for 2014 Tour confirmed

According to the Facebook fanpage, a new cast member has been added to play the Voice of Humanity in the 'Farewell Thunder Child' tour this year - Joseph Whelan.

Extra

"Life Begins Again" probably needs adding to the score. Also, has anyone ever managed to find a source for the members of the On-screen Ensemble? DiverScout (talk) 11:20, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • First of all a huge rearrangement is needed. The prose portion of the article should come before any cast/credits/track list. I strongly suggest you see a GA level album article like, for eg: I'm Breathless or most recently Cheek to Cheek. The layout I propose is as follows:
    • Background - talking about the background and development of the album
    • Composition - songs being played
    • Critical reception and release - this is utmost important to list any critical review that the album has received
    • Tour and promotion
    • Track listing
    • Credits and cast.

Once you are done with this rearrangement, I will proceed. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 06:03, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

IndianBio, I see what you mean. I have re-ordered the sections and inserted a new heading: Critical reception, which I see you are right, it is important. I will immediately start writing this section, but offline, and insert it into the article as soon as possible; it may take a few weeks. Please tell me: As I don't believe I can add more than this new section, do you agree this will be sufficient? Prhartcom (talk) 13:25, 11 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Prhartcom I can see that it is just a beginning in the major changes for the article. I don't think that the GA review would be the correct place for this to happen. I suggest withdrawing this nomination and then work on it in your sandbox and then renominate. You can notify me then, I will surely review it. At present this is a clear-cut GA fail. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 07:19, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
GA withdrawn by nominator, hence failing. —Indian:BIO [ ChitChat ] 13:44, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

2018 tour?

According to Newton Faulkner's page, he appeared in a 2018 production of the stage show: there's no mention of this here - did it take place? ~dom Kaos~ (talk) 15:10, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
