Death date
There is some confusion about the date of death. I changed it from 1660? (which was unsourced) to 6 October 1663, based on the presumably authoritative contemporary Britannica article; EB1911 however did have 1660. This edit reverted it to the previous inconsistent c. 1660 (main body) and 1659 (infobox), based on the death of his widow, buried 6 October 1662 (the municipal burial record does unambiguously say "Weduwe van Jan Batista Weenicx"). The coincidence with the Britannica date is striking. The Dutch Wikipedia, meanwhile, has Spring 1663; Worldcat and LOC have 1659; VIAF has different dates without explanation; Christie's goes for 1659/1661. But I think the safe bet is the Netherlands Biography Portal "vóór (before) 19 november 1663."
I think "between 1660 and 1663", which is DNB's solution, would be the best we could come up with, along with a footnote to sources. Thoughts? David Brooks (talk) 23:37, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
