Jajangmyeon MuseumGonghwachun – This museum is in the former facility for a historic Chinese restaurant called Gonghwachun that ran from c. 1905–1983. I think the museum is less notable than the restaurant it used to house.

There's actually three related concepts at play here: 1. The restaurant 2. The museum 3. The modern restaurant chain founded in 2004 that claims to succeed Gonghwachun (this claim is disputed, per [1]). I think, for now, they should all be discussed on a single page unless there's sufficient grounds for a WP:SIZESPLIT in future. But I think a size split is unlikely for a long time.

If this move passes, I'll handle the rescoping of the page. Plan to significantly rewrite it. 211.43.120.242 (talk) 05:58, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose - Gonghwachun and the Jajangmyeon Museum are both independently notable, just like how the former French railway station Gare d'Orsay and the museum that was established inside it, the Musée d'Orsay. I would also point out there is no direct continuity between the historic restaurant and the museum. The restaurant closed in the 1980s and the building was used for other purposes until the museum was established in 2012. I will also note that the Korean Wikipedia also has separate pages for the restaurant [2] and the museum [3]. I think while there is a possibility that concepts 1 and 3 could be combined as just one Gonghwachun article, concept 2 on the museum should be separated. ⁂CountHacker (talk) 00:02, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I like this proposal, thanks. I may go ahead and create an article for Gonghwachun and cover 1 and and 3 on it. 211.43.120.242 (talk) 07:06, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Withdrawing request per above. I also just created Draft:Gonghwachun and submitted it for approval. 211.43.120.242 (talk) 06:34, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
