I agree about the comments being made ... no where in this WHITEWASHING is it mentioned that his ineptness in properly managing Autolatina was the indirect cause of the bad rubber for the Bridgestone tires! He fired 22% of everyone in the manufacturing plants, PLUNGING us from 12 years at #1 quality, as the SPC data acquistion had to be unplugged! And WHY did he buy an OIL CHANGE COMPANY, plus Volvo Cars (only part of Volvo that DIDN'T make money --- he said IMAGE in his speech), and so many more businesses we didn't need, emptying our cash reserves??? The ONLY contribution he made was trashing us so bad, we didn't have to downsize again! Where's mention of the company that he TRASHED after Ford??? Those FREE PeoplePC computers were CRAP -- upgrade costs to something useful were more than buying a good computer elsewhere!!! And those PeoplePC accounts are dead ...

I can't BELIEVE that BHP was STUPID enough to hire him!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.102.76.74 (talk) 18:51, 21 January 2011 (UTC) }[reply]

Does this article really need to be 90% a rambling defence of his actions at Ford? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.39.128.42 (talk) 17:51, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Jacque Nasser, when he was still running Ford, tried to bypass his own dealers and sell cars on the internet. He even sued, but the Austin District Court issued a curious ruling against Ford in 2000, stating that: "The plaintiff is prohibited from selling motor vehicles to consumers by mail, phone calls, leafleting, skywriting, or drum signals, as well as on a plane, on a train, in a house or with a mouse." "

-- The Economist, May 27th, 2006 in a article on car retailing "Death of the Salesman"

Oddly enough....

"The reliability and safety ratings of Ford's products also hit a new low under Nasser's direction, the Ford Taurus and the Ford Crown Victoria were the only ford models to get a good safety rating. Nasser was eventually replaced by William Clay Ford, Jr., who was serving as the Chairman of the Board at the time. With Bill becoming Ford's CEO, Ford returned to being a family run business, and after the problems Nasser caused, the Ford Family has admitted that they will most likely not let the company be run by a non family member ever again."

wait...THE Crown Vic? the one that has the police worried because it explodes when hit from the rear thanks to poor gastank placement? gooood job Ford.

i think that the ironic "safety rating" tidbit should have an official insertion, though i don't know where to find a source for it.

=======================Unbalanced Article

Surely, Jacque Nasser must have done something positive. Reading this article though, you would not know it....

Nasser at the helm of Ford Australia and Ford Europe.

Let's not forget that Nasser led Ford Australia and Ford Europe successfully before he was offered the role mentioned in this article. Everyone's a hero 'til they stuff up!

"Career at Ford" section

I have added the essay-like template to this section. There are multiple vague and rather subjective words used to describe Nasser's management of as well as his leaving the company, likely due to the source being a talk-radio transcript. I would have to assume that there may be a more detailed and accurate source for some of the issues in this section. Illini407 talk 12:24, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
