Neutrality problems

@BibleStudent46: Hello. I tagged the article for having some neutrality problems. There are several tone problems which introduce a conversational style that is flattering, but non-neutral. As one example, His father found it difficult to leave the rigors of farming for a formal education himself, but he believed in education and made the sacrifices necessary to see that his children had educational opportunities. Lewis’ mother advised, "Get an education. No one can take that from you." is inappropriate for a neutral biography, as it's focusing on minor recollections to create an emotionally appealing narrative. This is made more of a problem because the section (and article in general) are based on Lewis's own autobiography, which should primarily be used for uncontroversial details. Secondary sources are always preferable for articles, especially biographies (see WP:BLPPRIMARY). Hopefully that's useful for improving the article. There are also some unrelated reference problems, but I will start another talk section for that. Grayfell (talk) 23:27, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

Using "ibid" is commonly a source of frustration on Wikipedia, since sections and references are so frequently moved around. As an alternative, it's possible to use Harvard style references, such as with Template:Harvard citation, but it's a bit trickier. A Notes and References system might be a better choice, as explained here: Help:Referencing for beginners#Alternative systems. Thanks. Grayfell (talk) 23:34, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
