Why this appears to be a copyright violation directly in opposition to owner's intent

The terms on www.iucnredlist.org/info/terms-of-use strongly suggest this is copyrighted material that cannot be largely copied by Wikipedia:

"The Red List contains copyrighted material and/or other proprietary information and thus, are protected by intellectual property agreements and copyright laws and regulations worldwide. You are hereby granted a license to use, download and print the materials contained in The Red List solely for conservation purposes, scientific analyses, or research provided that such use is in accordance with this User Agreement."

and

"You agree to not alter or remove any copyright symbol or other identification concerning authorship of any of the materials contained on or otherwise made available to you in The Red List."

This is just a list which should help other wikipidians to create and improve articles on threatened species by showing them what are the articles not created, nothing else. I do not see it as a copyright violation. You should see it as a check tool, showing what are the missing informations.You can't just categorize articles, you need a page which list all articles that we should have in order to create the missing one.I just admit one thing, that kind of list is extremly long and can sometime be hard to edit, but I don't not see an other way to do it with wikipedia. - Galmicmi (talk) 21:21, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
