I removed the external link to essenes.net/hypo.htm as I was unable to find an image of a hypocephali at the site in question. I'm posting this comment here as I neglected to provide a comment with the edit itself, and wish to alert anyone that may know where the intended image actually lives. Etymology

"The word is derived from υποκέφαλος "hypocephalus" = hypó {Greek: "under, below"} + cephalus {latinization of Greek kephalos: "head"}; a literal translation of the Egyptian kher tep [4] which has the same meaning)." The form υποκέφαλος seems like modern Greek as it is missing the rough breathing. By the way, I can not find the form ὑποκέφαλος in ancient Greek. Moreover, κέφαλος is not head in ancient Greek, as that is κεφαλή. So, the source must be erroneous, or someone misinterpreted the source. Wimpus (talk) 16:46, 5 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
