Council Ward Boundaries

A recent edit to the introduction moved Hotwells from the Council ward of Clifton to the Council ward of Hotwells and Harbourside. I live in Hotwells (opposite Hotwells Primary School) and I fall into the Clifton ward, so I checked the council's new ward maps, following their 2016 review. It seems clear that Hotwells as a geographical area now falls into both Clifton and Hotwells and Harbourside, with a rough geographical split along the Hotwell Road in the western end of the area. For example, Holy Trinity, Dowry Square and Hope Chapel are unquestionably in Hotwells, but fall into the Clifton Ward. I've therefore changed the introduction to reflect this, but thought explaining my reasoning here might be a good idea.

If you're editing to describe political changes (councillors, etc.) you may need to bear this split in mind. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gothick (talkcontribs) 09:43, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The hosues in that photo, which says they are in Hotwells, are in Cliftonwood. Maybe the picture could be moved there? Chris 05:56, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll have a dig through my photos and see if I've got anything which sums up Hotwells better. I've definitely got a picture of Albemarle Row (as used on Grade II* listed buildings in Bristol) but there may be something more general which works better. Maybe the traditional view of Hotwells with the suspension bridge would work; I can always go and shoot one...) gothick (talk) 07:02, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Right, took a photo tonight; anything better will have to wait for better weather (maybe next year!?) I've replaced the current photo with my new one, on the grounds that there's significantly more of Hotwells visible in it, at least. Comments, anyone? If someone want to suggest a better viewpoint then I'll happily go take a photo... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gothick (talkcontribs) 19:12, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CBC

and also, this article says that the City of Bristol college is in Hotwells, while the article on Canon's Marsh say it is in Canon's Marsh. I would tend to agree with the latter.... Chris 05:58, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Map

And furthermore, the dot on the map is in the wrong place (Temple Meads, I would estimate). Chris 17:49, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
