Incorrect Ottoman conqueror

The article mistakenly says "Palestine was conquered by Turkish Sultan Selim II in 1516–17" instead of Selim I. His grandson Selim II ruled from 1566 to 1574.

Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 18 February 2024

in the part of "Early Roman period", there's a timeline on the side of the page. in this timeline, the Bar-Kochba revolt appears after the renaming of Judea to Syria-Palaestina, and this renaming is depicted as "judea merged into Syria-Palaestina". change it to "Judea renamed into Syria-Palaestina" and switch it's place with "Bar-Kochba revolt" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eran Haim1 (talkcontribs) 21:20, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Regarding the the renaming event on the timeline, it is listed as a one-time event for the year 132, and therefore should not be placed after the Bar Kokhba revolt, which was a multi-year event lasting until 136. For the renaming vs. merging issue, see Syria Palaestina § Name. Havradim leaf a message 07:10, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like a bedtime tale

The History of the Jews and Judaism in the Land of Israel.

Not to mention, the first paragraph too. I enjoy the style a bit but it's also deviates a lot from the traditional Wikipedia style of objective reporting LostCitrationHunter (talk) 07:03, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Several incorrect historical names of peoples and lands

There are several times through out the article named peoples and lands that did not exists at the time periods eg. Israelites and Palestinians, as well as Israel and Palestine. You should not use Israelites to describe a people from 12th century nor regard the land never recognized as Palestine until the 20th century. Correct names for those time periods should be used to show historic accuracy instead of current political sides. In it's current form this article is useless and totally inaccurate. As the article is extended protected there only a few who have priviledges to make the changes. Jmhelin79 (talk) 15:22, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, anything regarding Palestine and israel is not accurately portrayed. As a former teacher I forbade my students to cite wp. Thank you 69.92.108.244 (talk) 21:21, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary etymology

This section appears unnecessary: it defies the entire point of an inter-linked digital encyclopedia. Iskandar323 (talk) 22:18, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
