Merger proposal

Since Hemileia vastatrix only causes coffee rust, and the coffee rust article is a stub, I propose that these two articles be merged together. Million_Moments (talk) 08:49, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No objections so, until the article is expanded, I have merged the info from Coffee rust article, pasting non-redundant text into "Disease reports" section and the links into "External links" section. Redirects set up. History page of old article can be found here. Cheers, Safflle (talk) 03:36, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

use as a herbicide

According to the reference there are NO significant evidence for a use of H. vastatrix as a bioweapon. Therefore I suggest to delete this paragraph — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.41.144.24 (talk) 15:28, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree and have deleted it: as I understand, US anti-narcotic experiments were mostly with specific isolates of Fusarium oxysporum against coca. There are politics behind this! Roy Bateman (talk) 01:58, 29 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Economic Impact

There are a number of claims in the section titled Economic Impact that need references per WP:WHYCITE. For example, the second paragraph claims "Worldwide loss is estimated at 15%." which is a verifiable statement. More info: WP:PROVEIT.

Both sentences in the third paragraph are verifiable/challengeable and should be sourced with reliable sources.

If you are the editor who made the claims, or you know of sources that support them, please add the sources. —Michael.C.Wright (talk) 22:47, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I found the editor who made the statements; me...five years ago. ಠ_ಠ I have found the sources I used and added them. —Michael.C.Wright (talk) 23:14, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
