Commented out duplicate

The literature bit mentioned Harry Potter twice. I commented out the duplicate in case someone wanted to swap them or something, but for now it isn't in the article. Jamietwells (talk) 16:48, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dante

How about the "heliotrope" mentioned in Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, Inferno 24, verse 93? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.176.105.142 (talk) 09:28, 5 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Possible removal from list

An entry in List of colors: A–F contained a link to this page.

The entry is :

  • Heliotrope gray

I don't see any evidence that this color is discussed in this article and plan to delete it from the list per this discussion: Talk:List_of_colors#New_approach_to_review_of_entries

If someone decides that this color should have a section in this article and it is added, I would appreciate a ping.--S Philbrick(Talk) 13:13, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

English Dialects

I know this color term is used in British English, but I'm pretty sure it's not used in American English (I'm American). Should something to this effect (and I have no idea whether it's used in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, etc.) be added to this page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:2000:1404:40FB:ADFF:1DBD:BBCE:7855 (talk) 22:31, 27 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Improvement to list of shades of violet

The list of shades of violet at the bottom of the article is very useful.

But it would be improved greatly if the color names did not appear to apply to the color above the name just as much as to the color below the name.

I do not know how to adjust the formatting to achieve this. But I hope that someone who does know how will do this. 2601:200:C000:1A0:996:A73:BA05:6E31 (talk) 15:20, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
