HBO also did a 3-part World War II miniseries in 2003 called "The Comedian and the Soldier". As I put on my talk page in response to your posts there. It doesn't make any difference what anyone here thinks. All that makes a difference is what reliable sources say. We would need a reliable source to say that he broke new ground with his HBO special. Until someone finds that it should not be added to the article. ~ GB fan 18:38, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

Proposed split into Home Box Office, Inc.

Given the breadth of the ventures that HBO has been involved in and its place within an operating subsidiary of WarnerMedia and its predecessor entities, consideration should be made about splitting the Home Box Office Inc. infobox and “Other ventures” section to create a separate article on the operating unit. The article would also include summarical information on Home Box Office Inc.’s development in pertinence to its two flagship channels and its operations under Time-Life and Time Warner/WarnerMedia to provide a broader detail on the company’s evolution. The main HBO would be narrowly focused on the premium channel and its directly related sub-entities (including existing summary sections on Cinemax, HBO Go, HBO Now and HBO Max), which would also be covered summarily in the new article. Support the recent edits of Tvtonightokc

I support the recent edits by Tvtonightokc. The assertions made by QueensanditsCrazy on Tvtonightokc's talk page about how the article needs to be trimmed are incorrect; at least to the extent recently attempted.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 17:35, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the support, though I did agree to move the full history text to a separate article (History of HBO, linked in a main article template at the top of the "history" section) while trimming the text in the main article. So, I ensured the broader context remained in capacity, whilst addressing the space concerns. TVTonightOKC (talk)
That removes about 50kb from the main article. Is QueensanditsCrazy satisfied with the remaining ~140kb in the main HBO articlespace? If so that should satisfy the objection.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 19:16, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

trimming

Hi @TVTonightOKC, I saw in the archive 2 that a few months ago you had discussed spinning off a lot of the History content of this article into its own page, a change I support (sorry for not expressing this sooner). The page seems to exist and to be (sufficiently) identical enough that I would be comfortable reverting this page's History section to the version I had trimmed down many months ago and leave the rest of the article untouched (for now). Thanks for spinning off into a new page, I think it lets you go into great detail there without bogging down a reader of this article who might, say, only be interested in its channels or programming later in the article. So thank you for the History article! Let me know whenever you want me to revert the history part or anything else you want to discuss. Sorry for not communicating many months ago about my changes, I was kind of new to the process and now I know the community standards a bit better. QueensanditsCrazy (talk) 20:48, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

Lower Manhattan?

In the “History” section, it refers to Lower Manhattan but then mentions a section from the East 70s to West 80s. I’m not sure whether that’s considered midtown or uptown but still… it’s not lower, is it? Asking because I’m of course reluctant to edit without knowing for sure.
