In the section discussing design management of the GCF, I would like to add the following sentence, sourcing work published by the Overseas Development Institute. Design and management of the GCF

During COP-16 in Cancun, the matter of governing the GCF was entrusted to the newly founded Green Climate Fund Board, and the World Bank was chosen as the temporary trustee.[1] To develop a design for the functioning of the GCF, the ‘Transitional Committee for the Green Climate Fund’ was called into life in Cancun too. The committee met four times throughout the year 2011, and submitted a report to the 17th COP in Durban, South Africa. Based on this report, the COP decided that the ‘GCF would become an operating entity of the financial mechanism’ of the UNFCCC,[18] and that on COP-18 in 2012, the necessary rules should be adopted to ensure that the GCF ‘is accountable to and functions under the guidance of the COP’.[18] ---Researchers at the Overseas Development Institute note that without this last minute agreement on a governing instrument for the GCF, the "African COP" would have been considered a failure. [19] When the board first meets, it will need to define and shape the relationship between the GCF and the COP.----- Furthermore, the GCF Board was given the task to develop rules and procedures for the distribution of the money in the GCF, and for the cooperation with the national governments of the countries where subsidized projects will be taking place. The GCF Board was also charged with establishing an independent secretariat as soon as a decision was made on its host country. Finally, it also needs to select the permanent trustee of the GCF, doing this through an open and transparent procedure.[18]

NewsAndEventsGuy and I have been discussing whether ODI publications are a reliable source. I am very much of the opinion that they are. My talk page provides extensive evidence to support my position. It would be great to have some further input from other editors to confirm for certain that this is the case.

Many thanks,

Are there / does anybody have access to numbers how many payments have been made in a year? Would find that very helpful.

At the moment, the page shows only the amounts pledged.

After Obama put $1 billion into this thing, the least they can do is pay him a nice speaker's fee.[1] Whiff of greatness (talk) 01:40, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  Edit request partially implemented

  • The executive director was added.
  • The financials could not be added because the location of where the information was to be placed was not specific enough.

plus Additional changes made:

  1. Text in the article was found to be insufficiently paraphrased from the source material, and omitted from the article. Text should be placed in an editor's own words using an editor's own phrasing. A listing of the problematic text may be found here.
  2. Because the article uses two different citation styles, an unclear citation style maintenance template was appended to the article.

To the COI editor: Wikipedia appreciates your contributions. Once you have chosen a new username, please feel free to return to this talk page to make your future edit request needs known.

  Edit request declined

  1. The current request states "Information to be added or removed: Under the Accredited Entities section:" but does not state which action is to be utilized here: addition or removal.
  2. If a substitution is to be made here — meaning the request is for material to be both removed and added — then the request needs to provide the verbatim text which is to be added along with the verbatim text to be removed. These two actions should be listed separately from one another in the request.[a]
  3. The COI editor is kindly asked to open a new {{request edit}} template at their earliest convenience once their request is better described. Thank you!

Notes

  1. ^ While it may be clear in the mind of the COI editor which changes need to be made to the article and how they should be made, this same clarity may not be present in the mind of the reviewer. Eliminating ambiguity with respect to which text is to be added and which text is to be removed helps to lessen this discrepancy. (See WP:MINDREADER.)

Some proposed changes to the list of accredited entities

  • As the information on current accredited entities is available at the Green Climate Fund's website in directory form, the list of accredited entities in the article has been omitted in favor of a link to this information in the External links section.

Removed further reading list

I think the further reading list is not adding value and is outdated. Have removed it:

Citation needed for beneficiary countries

Hi User:LordXI01 you added a table for beneficiary countries: please add the source for this table, otherwise it has to be removed for being unsourced. Also make sure that where you got it from, this was provided under a compatible licence. EMsmile (talk) 10:51, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done....will complete the table soon LordXI01 (talk) 19:46, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. But is it really worth listing all the countries here? The list could get very long. Perhaps rather focus on the top 10 or top 20 countries, i.e. those 10 or 20 countries that are receiving the majority of the funds? I wouldn't repeat the entire table from their website here.
