I lack a reliable timeline on this fellow, e.g. when he joined the Army medical corps and when he began and finished the teaching stints mentioned in the Columbia obituary. JFW | T@lk 10:55, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This published obituary may help when I pull the fulltext from the library. JFW | T@lk 11:00, 12 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I might be able to help you... I'm one of GZ's great nieces.. I could probably get some of the information you looking for - given some time - I'd have to asked someone in the family for the accurate information. KPS

Thank you. The problem really is that publishing your recollections of Uncle Gordon may qualify as original research, something Wikipedia tries to avoid for difficulty with verification. Your help would, however, greatly be appreciated in verifying the factual content of our present article. Are you familiar with Emil Frei's obituary? JFW | T@lk 12:10, 4 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I am Gordon's grandson and, having reviewed his autobiography (p. 66) note that, "On 23 March 1943, I reported for duty at Goldwater, first as a civilian but soon as a first lieutenant in the Army Medical Corps."
