The first Sentence

Tsukasa room is for to drink and get drunk ked that the first sentence is not acceptable. It says "Google Classroom is a free web service developed by Google for schools that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments." You should put "Google Classroom is a free web service developed by Google for schools that lets teachers and educators post assignments and grade them."

Thanks, Lucky7Chromebook Lucky7Chromebook (talk) 20:46, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure "Google Classroom is a free web service developed by Google for schools that let's teachers and educators post assignments and grade them." is as factually accurate as "Google Classroom is a free web service developed by Google for schools that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments". Your suggestion doesn't encapsulate everything google classroom does. Posting assignments and grading them is clearly mentioned in other parts of the article. Hey Billmackenty, I apologize for the suggestion. Some unkind person has gone and change what I originally wrote. I didn't mean to say something stupid.

Copyvio?

I ran some of the text through Earwig's Copyvio Detector and it found a number of sentences identical to Google Classroom | Xpo Creations. Might need more than a mere surface copyedit. Me, Myself & I (☮) (talk) 03:32, 31 March 2016 (UTC).[reply]

I tried to verify this and the link (https://tools.wmflabs.org/copyvios/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=Google+Classroom&oldid=&use_engine=0&use_links=0&turnitin=0&action=compare&url=http%3A%2F%2Fxpocreations.com%2Fwebsites%2Fgoogle-classroom%2F_ ) did not return any hits. Yes I agree. Lucky7Chromebook (talk) 20:40, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

google classroom does not meet the standard definition of a learning management system

I am struggling to understand the design goals for google classroom. I do not believe the first sentence is correct. Please consider the wikipedia page Learning management system and note google classroom does not satisfy the criteria of a LMS. For example, google classroom does not fully help teachers with:

  • documentation
  • tracking
  • reporting
  • delivery of educational courses or training programs[1]

I see google classroom more of a "facebook for learning" which != LMS. I would like to invite comment and thoughts prior to striking the sentence that google classroom is an LMS. Billmackenty (talk) 08:14, 31 January 2018 (UTC)…[reply]

I see google classroom more of a "facebook for learning" which != LMS. You think that is true but it is not true don’t believe that.

I changed the intro paragraph to omit the reference to LMS. I note on the google classroom page, the intended design goal is to facilitate "connection" rather than "learning". [2]Billmackenty (talk) 12:07, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Remove time-cost section

Hello everyone. I would like to remove the time-cost section. It makes no sense because it does not discuss the saving of time vs other products. It also makes no sense because there isn't anything inherently time saving about google classroom, but rather the way you use it that saves time. In the context of this article, it feels more like a marketing snippet than information about google classroom. Please discuss here. Billmackenty (talk) 06:52, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hearing no comment, so removed. Billmackenty (talk) 18:42, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

criticism

Ok. The criticism section doesn't discuss specific criticism to google classroom, but rather with google as a whole. It looks like legit criticism of google but I'm not sure it belongs on this wiki page. I think clear criticism of google classroom would be helpful, but I don't see any here. I'm considering removing the criticism part and invite any discussion prior to doing so. Billmackenty (talk) 11:41, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I would tend to think the section can stand and have taken initial steps toward addressing some of the concerns we have over it. However, further references really should still be forthcoming. There has been much clear, specific criticism of Google Classroom. Has Sen. Franken's letter been treated in other articles about Google on the English Wikipedia, as far as anyone knows? - phi (talk) 10:12, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

remove two sections from features

Under the feature section, I see archive and privacy. These aren't really meaningful features, per se. Privacy isn't a feature, and considering the criticism google has faced related to privacy, I think this should be removed. I also think archiving isn't really a feature linked to google classroom. When you look at the other features you can see they are directly related to the core design goals of google classroom, but the two I mention are not. American centrism

The article states: “Countries abroad used Google Classroom during the Covid-19 pandemic …”. Where is “abroad”? Not America? That would be a poor definition for a “global” website such as Wikipedia.185.192.155.58 (talk) 13:52, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Solid edit!
I had a little go at the article just now, let me know what you think, there were still some problems with the old version i hope to have mitigated.

Really good job! Hopefully we can get the advertisement issue banner removed, however sources may still be an issue. Realtent (talk) 19:23, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
