Logo

Picture

As the stadium is most commonly known as the home of the New England Patriots, could someone find a usable picture featuring a football game instead of a soccer one. I mean seriously, the field is empty in the current one Black Harry (T|C) 01:32, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tower?

Can anyone add comment on why there is a tower, what the tower is and/or the significance of the tower? The article references the tower in the field logo, but not why there's a tower in the first place. It's fairly unique as far as stadiums go, so I think a mention would at least be appropriate. Architect?

The article says John Bolles designed the stadium and various web searches come up with the same thing. With such a high profile building you would think there would be stuff about the architect all over the net but I can't anything other than a John Bolles who died in 1983 and designed many landmark buildings in California including Candlestick Park. It look some tricky searching since so many sites mention Bolles. But I suspected it was HOK (like pratically every other stadium). Bolles did the ligthouse. I removed Bolles name altogether. I can't find any reliable source that says he did the entrance. The sources merely parrot what's already out there and the name is bandied about a lot. That entrance would have at least got him some mention in the Boston Globe and there's none. The HOK entry that somebody else added seems to take credit for it. In looking at the edit history Bolles name popped up in this 2005 edit when the infobox was added. I suspect that the editor was using the Candlestick Park infobox as a template and forgot to delete the name. Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium

Additionally, several nonconference teams would not even consider playing games in Amherst.

I'm sorry if this seems like splitting hairs, but the Warren P. McGuirk Alumni Stadium is not in Amherst, MA. The main campus of the University of Massachusetts is, but their football stadium is actually located in the adjacent town of Hadley, MA just west of Amherst. This also makes "... the Minutemen's on-campus stadium," a bit misleading; I'd suggest, "...the stadium for the UMass Minutemen's Amherst campus," or something like that.

Photo

We really need a new photo on the page for the stadium. With Patriot Place, the stadium looks nothing like it does in the current photo from 2007, and will look even less like it once the current renovations are done. Because the photo has to be public domain or granted permission, I'm not sure where to find one to replace this one. Someone else perhaps? CPAScott (talk) 18:32, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
