Neutrality

C'mon. This page ain't here just to crow about an organization's imagined achievements. Practically the whole article is based on sources that don't even mention "georgiacarry". Felsic2 (talk) 00:08, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The intro and the "Lobbying Efforts" section are not particularly strong, but the "Court Briefs and Actions" section is passable. Most of the stuff is pretty factual, at least in that GCO was involved in the five lawsuits listed (it was an actual plaintiff in four of them).

While the article still needs some work overall, I don't see a clear violation of Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Since it's been tagged for over four years with no discussion whatsoever until now, I'm going to remove the Template:POV tag unless someone objects. — Satori Son 15:26, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

House Bill 615 (2009–2010)

Representative Timothy Bearden of the 68th, a GCO member, introduced HB 615 to the 2009–2010 session of the Georgia General Assembly.

Repeal the public gathering law, that some believe to have its roots in the 1868 massacre at Camilla, Georgia

Repeal the requirement to possess a license to carry a handgun openly, that was passed by the General Assembly following the Atlanta Race Riot of 1906. The open carry of a handgun without a license is generally lawful in twenty-four (24) states.

Repeal the prohibition of carrying a firearm on a college campus

Prohibit the seizure of privately owned firearms during a declared state of emergency

What does this have to do with GeorgiaCarry.org? Just because the sponsor was a member, supposedly, that's not much of a connection. Unless we can say that the "GCO" was the major lobbyist or author of this bill, there ain't no good reason to give all these details. We oughta describe GCO's connection explicitly, and also the outcome. Or just delete or just say they supported a failed bill. Felsic2 (talk) 17:25, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
