This is an important online advertising strategy which gets round the problem of how to target online advertising to a particular geographic audience. Owing to the open nature of the WWW, it is often considered impossible to direct online advertising in terms of geography so this solution deserves this wikipedia explanation - a marketing category as useful and significant as all the other categories e.g. social media marketing/blog marketing.
