The source of the name

As a newcomer in North Virginia, the name "frying pan" for a park or a farm strikes me as exteremely odd. I would like to know what is the source of this name. 141.156.98.2Ef, 10/10/07 —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 18:46, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The various cn-tags added to the topic are sourced properly on the linked topic which begins the paragraph. In fact, it goes more in depth, and is (in some places) fairly well-known, although somewhat more amusing than w-editors's appreciation for humor permits. It has never been acceptable in Wikipedia to say "See article x for the claims made in article y". Removal of my cn tags was improper. Just provide sources. The Mark of the Beast (talk) 23:32, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's always been acceptable style to make a synopsis of relevant material from a different topic to provide context for a wiki-link. Without that, there's no point in providing links (a point which is lost on random editors who paste large chunks from one topic to another - and usually are reverted) TEDickey (talk) 23:35, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Frying Pan Park versus Frying Pan Farm Park

The name of the park is "Frying Pan Farm Park" not "Frying Pan Park". Should the title of the article be corrected? Archer1234 (talk) 15:45, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
