Tumblehome

This article makes it sound like the lack of tumblehome would decrease stability. That is what was thought at the time but the opposite is true, look at the way the waterplane area changes when the ship heels.LRT24 (talk) 20:13, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Biggest possible?

"Valmy was thought to be the largest sort of sailing ship possible, as larger dimensions made the management of rigging impracticable with mere manpower."

How this could be true, if the Duke of Wellington was laid down as a sail ship and was even bigger? I will delete this until a better explanation. Aozyk (talk) 16:38, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
