Fruits

The entire fruits section was removed on Sept. 5th, so I brought it back today. It needs some work though. The last sentence is unfinished and there are other issues as well. I will edit it a little but could use some help especially from those familiar with botany. Thank you! Angela C 03:42, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Updating Food Groups
(USDA Food guide pyramid (1992) and the new MyPyramid (2005)

This article was based on the foods groups from the old food pyramid (except for the image which is of the new pyramid). Both of the old and new pyramid articles compare the differences or at least mention the old and the new. Any ideas on how this should be organized and updated here? Thanks! I went ahead and made some changes to update this article and improve the appearance. I added the old pyramid image to the top; moved the new one down; added the two sections for the old and the new pyramids; listed the new MyPyrmid food groups and provided a link to the MyPyramid article. I did not include specific food examples or the number of servings or ounces per day as of yet. Also the MyPyramid photo was showing up at first, but now it is not. I'm not sure if it's me or not. Thank you for improving the article. That info seemed to be based on the USA Food guide pyramid , so I moved it to that article.
None of your work was deleted, just moved to the other article. I wonder if those same food groups also apply in the new MyPyramid system; I'll check the references when I have time and if they do, I'll copy them over there too.
This article on food groups is a more general topic, and needs definitions and references from the science of nutrition and dietetics, but should not be only based on the USA food pyramids which are only part of the definitions of food groups. --Jack-A-Roe (talk) 02:54, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
