Comment
I put it with phrases and proverbs. I don't know what other links it could sensibly have, apart from books using the title. I listed a couple of books, one of which has an author with an existing article. Someone else could fill in for those books (which I had not read). --GwydionM 16:38, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

A Turian asks, in person, something very similar to, "What is it you humans say? A fly in the lotion?" in Mass Effect 1. The comment currently up says via email with a Turian in ME2, and I cannot confirm or deny this. 107.2.232.137 (talk) 03:42, 8 November 2011 (UTC)
Intended imagery
An image search of this phrase mostly results in pictures of flies on the tops of ointments, having evidently contaminated the ointment recently; thus the remedy is simple: scoop out the fly and surrounding ointment. I feel that the intended imagery here is meant to be more subtle. Perhaps after using the ointment several times, the patient discovers that there was a fly embedded in the ointment all along, only being discovered after the ointment had already been used.
