2020 redistricting

Hello, I noticed that there was no content under the 2020 redistricting. I do not have a ton of experience on Wikipedia, but there have been significant developments that I believe are quite relevant to the section and the topic of Florida’s congressional districts as a whole.

First of all, there have been court rulings regarding the constitutionality of the redistricting, involving the Leon County Circuit Court, Florida First District Court of Appeal, and the Florida Supreme Court, with the legal battle still continuing as of this discussion post. This legal battle is mainly in regard to the Jacksonville area.

Secondly, there was a notable change in the districts around Tampa Bay. Florida District 13, consisting of the Clearwater-St. Petersburg area, was split, with a predominantly Democrat-leaning portion being moved into the strongly Democrat-leaning FL District 14, which includes the City of Tampa, diminishing the competitive nature of the district. Before the redrawing, FL District 13 roughly coincided with Pinellas County, which has been a bellweather county for every US presidential election since 1976.

I am not entirely sure what would be the best manner of formatting/presenting this information, so I welcome someone else to write in the relevant parts of what I mentioned. If there is no entry in the near future, I might do it myself and try my best to present it in common Wikipedia etiquette. AustinC2002 (talk) 17:41, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
