So officially its the flag of the Otago Regional Council? Mattlore 09:55, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Officially, yes, though it is also used by the general population of Otago who are free to fly it when and where they wish. Prior to its creation there was an unofficial flag of Otago that was vertically Blue and yellow in two uneven strips (cf the national flag of Portugal), with the word "Otago" in white, outlines black, across the centre. this is still seen flying, but the flag described in this article is slowly taking over from it as the flag of choice of the general public. Grutness...wha? 00:17, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi.

I have just been "awarded" a FLAG of Otago .. as a User from Otago.

However...!

That in itself is actually a slight exageration .. as I am "NOT from the City of Dunedin ..(where MOST of the OTAGO FLAG "relates directly into)

I myself am from the INTERIOR REGION .. of:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Otago

A vast area of topography .. that ellicits a much freer wilder environment .. to that of the stagnant (Dunedin) "CITIFIED" areas .. of the province's eastern seaboard.

I would therefore "LIKE" to have a "FLAG" .. replendant with either the Coat of Arms (that OTAGO USES) .. or that of the regions "HIGH SCHOOLL -- Upper senior Secondary flag ..

The flag of: DUNSTAN

As after all -- it IS the "flag" that I relate the most towards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by QUIX4U (talkcontribs) 02:57, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
