Talk:Family reunion

This page conflates family reunions (the gathering of family members for a meal, socializing, etc.) with family reunion/reunification (the reuniting of family members in one country with family members who have migrated to another).

I'm thinking that is a good thing. -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 15:07, 2 August 2015 (UTC) (PS: What's 'conflates'?)[reply]

Replacing a few external links

I remove the bottom three links after I clicked on them and found the sites (while probably good in their time) are no longer there. We could Google-search for new additions, or if you know some, they could be considered. -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 19:55, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Family reunion (free) magazine (online)

Doing a Google-search, I websurfed to this site:

Does anyone have experience with this (free) reunion planning site?

I tried some of their links and they were not active this morning. -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 09:52, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New NEWS today, for future editing, possibly

The strength of family ties crosses Communist/Free borders.

Headline-1: North and South Koreas agree to rare family reunions

QUOTE: "North and South Korea have agreed to hold rare reunions for families separated by the Korean War, according to Seoul. The meetings will take place in October at a mountain resort in North Korea. The decision follows an agreement last month that de-escalated tensions sparked by a border mine explosion that injured two South Korean soldiers. Thousands of Korean families have been separated with little or no contact since the war ended in 1953. The highly emotional reunions of family member who have not seen one another in decades have been infrequent, and depend hugely on the state of relations on the peninsula. The BBC's Stephen Evans in Seoul says the reunions, which started in 1988, used to be annual but have often been cancelled in recent years as relations frayed. The last round was held in February 2014." -- Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 09:57, 8 September 2015 (UTC) -- PS: FYI for future editing consideration.[reply]
