Merge

Should definitely be merged. It's the same darn thing. Geekish 05:45, 30 November 2006 (UTC)S[reply]

The two smaller sections contain too little information, and most is overlapping. Either more information be added to the smaller articles, or they be merged into the larger one. Cedar_ren 13:33, 20 Jan 2016.

Merged the smaller of these. Klbrain (talk) 21:11, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Infra-orbital block

This injection anesthetizes the distribution of the infra-orbital nerve as it emerges from the infra-orbital foramen.

Firstly, this mechanism of facial palsy should not be termed Bell's Palsy, which has a specific meaning (i.e. viral).

Secondly, I have not heard of this injection causing a facial palsy. An inferior alveolar nerve block placed too posteriorly may deposit local anesthetic into the substance of the parotic gland, through which the 5 branches of the facial nerve run. It is the injection which many textbooks refer to as causing a facial palsy.

Therefore, I am reverting the article to how it was before. Lesion (talk) 12:03, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
