Should this be renamed something like Excess profits tax in the United States'? RJFJR (talk) 13:42, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This piece is purely historical, since the last excess profits tax, the Windfall Profits Tax, was repealed in the 1986 TRA. I've re-rated low priority. Oldtaxguy (talk) 05:13, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to the 1922 Encyclopedia Britannica, there were many countries that employed excess profits taxes during WWI. They included: The United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Italy, the United States of America and others. --Bob Wyman (talk) 02:04, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
