My reasons for suggesting the merger are as follows:

  • There is a large amount of overlap.
  • "Evolutionary progress" is nothing if not a (scientifically ambivalent) interpretation of largest-scale trends, and should be described in that way.
  • Neither article is big enough to justify separation.
  • The two articles, probably because they both seem to be largely the individual project of the same person, have several common problems which could better be dealt with in one article. Neither clearly defines terms, both seem (to me) overly POV, etc.
  • These could become one useful article instead of two questionable, confusing articles, which would merit linking from other articles, like evolution, which right now, they don't seem to be.
