inconsistency in Symbolism section?

I could just change this, but I thought I'd submit it for discussion if necessary.

The section says the following

As in contemporary portraits of couples, Europa regina has her head turned to the left and also holds the orb with her right hand

Her head is turned to to the viewer's left, but it is "her" right, the same side as the orb is held. Should the text say she has her head turned to the right?

Thank you for your comment. I put the left/right orientation as it was put in the source, I guess the source said "left" because it described contemporary portraits from the viewer's viewpoint. If you have an idea how it could be phrased more unambiguously, feel free to alter. Best Skäpperöd (talk) 16:21, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

question about source

Refer to the following from the section on Symbolism:

Another connection to Charles V is the gown, which resembles the contemporary dress code at the Habsburg court

This statement seems to be inaccurate. The dress and headdress shown to the right of the paragraph represent fashion of the 14th Century not the 16th. Does the source claim that this particular Europa figure shows contemporary dress of the 1500s?

I have looked it up, best I provide a full quote for discussion:

German original (starts at the bottom of p. 244, most is on p. 245): "Der Bezug zur unmittelbaren Gegenwart und zu den [pagebreak] Habsburgern wird auch durch das zeitgenössische, ausgesprochen modische höfische Gewand der weiblichen Figur hergestellt, [...]"
Translation: "A reference to the immediate present time and the Habsburgs is given by the contemporary, extremely fashionable court gown of the female."

It is the reference to the half-sentence you posted above (Werner 2009:245), which also references the second half-sentence about the association with Isabella. Skäpperöd (talk) 19:19, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
