Revision
I will be giving Lady Townshend a biographical makeover in the next few weeks, as new information has come to light recently greatly increasing her notability and interest to a modern readership. The makeover will be accompanied by additional images and insights. There is no doubt that women through history had restricted agency, either by contract (through marriage) or by social context. Lady Townshend was an exception: she possessed beauty, money, wit, position and audacity and was willing to use all those attributes to her advantage. Please let me know if you wish to contribute to the rewrite.Geneus01 (talk) 14:16, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
