Talk:Equal Earth projection

The formulas shown are not both polynomial equations.

The article refers to "polynomial equations", but one of the equations shown, for the Equal Earth Projection isn't a polynomial equation.

It would be better to say "equations that are based on polynomials".

You are wright. I made the correction. Michel Awkal (talk) 16:16, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

One variable is missing

The equations shown feature just one variable (, which seems to depend from latitude ), but they should definitely include another one (longitude). In any case, the dependency of from could be more straightforward (e.g. the formula put in explicit form), and a clear declaration of variables should be added to the accompanying text. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Il wage (talkcontribs) 05:45, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

x depends on λ, which is longitude. The article ought to explain its symbols. Strebe (talk) 14:19, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hobo Dyer origin?

Was the Equal-Earth Projection inspired by Hobo-Dyer?

I ask because of how similarly those two projections portray Africa.

This isn't criticism. There's nothing wrong with stark unrealism.
