Air pollution

I've noticed what may be a discrepancy: according to the article, "Russia's air is among the most polluted in the world" and "Currently, vehicle emissions exceed industry emissions in most Russian cities". However, everyone knows that there are a lot less cars in Russia than in other countries like the United States.[1] So where does this pollution come from? I'd say that the pollution comes from lower pollution standards or lower enforcement. [2], [3], and [4] highlight the air pollution situation in Russia, and one of them states that "Motor vehicles are subject to only minimal environmental regulations, and automobile emissions in major cities, including lead, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides, are major sources of air pollution." The United States, and many other countries, have high emission standards on vehicles, and Russia doesn't seem to be as good with that. --Slon02 (talk) 21:44, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Incidents

Where are accidents included? 42 people were in hospital in Chelyabinsk Russia after a leak of the toxic chemical bromine in a rail incident in 2 September 2011. [5] Watti Renew (talk) 13:55, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Air pollution section

The sources for this section are mostly from the 1990s. They're useless now.
