This page was drafted as part of ENE 502, a course on the history and philosophy of engineering education at Purdue University. We are looking to improve this page, and will be revisiting it collectively over the next few weeks. We value your feedback! Alicepawley (talk) 21:55, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On 01/29/2015 a group of 1st year Purdue ENE grad students edited the definition of EER and deliberately introduced the difference between Engineering Education and the education of engineers, as a way to depict the ambiguity inherent to the field. #hashtag — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.210.106.32 (talk) 21:16, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I just removed that particular distinction. I did it because "Engineering Education" qua field is better described as "engineering education research," or perhaps "the engineering education community." I know that this is still ambiguous if ENE is its own field or a subfield or a community of practice or... but I think it's best to say EER attempts to study the education of engineers and itself. - - mathmitch7 (talk/contribs) 00:36, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I somehow found the Global Engineering Education page and it seems like it should just be merged into this one. If you think it's important that it be kept separate, let me know. If you think it'd be more appropriate to merge into engineering studies, let me know as well. Thanks! - - mathmitch7 (talk/contribs) 00:32, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
