I'm not sure about the relevance/importance of the uncited reference to Sharjah and other Trucial States being 'Salute states'???

Alexandermcnabb (talk) 04:00, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don`t find the word "pirate" anywhere in the article. Was not that (one) of the main reasons for the British going in and finally establishing a treaty regime?

I agree with Chris. Where is the information about the pirating. Also I think there should be information on modern Sharja.

Why is it called Sharja in English and al-Shaariqa in Arabic?? Do they pronounce their Qaf as a J?? If anything, it should be Shariga.--67.70.130.103 22:33, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sharjah has become a residential suburb of Dubai, with many people living in Sharjah, and commuting daily by car to Dubai. This causes immense ongoing traffic problems as workers stream into Dubai in the morning, and then return in the evening.

Sharjah is not as relaxed as Dubai in a number of areas. It is effectively 'Dry' (well I couldn't get an alcoholic drink).

Sharjah also has a very high Indian immigrant/ex pat workforce.

Concerning the Dry state - Yes, it is. You can't buy pork anywhere, but you can get a drink at the members-only Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club. Concering pronouncing of the name, it was originally mis-pronounced when Westerners first went out and it just stuck is the story that is generally accepted. There is a separate section for Khor Kalba. Given that and the fact that Kalba is an enclave of Sharjah (emirate), and it is the only enclave with a separate section in this article, and there is another article for Kalba in wikipedia, this section of Khor Kalba in this article should be removed. Neutrality

What is the reasoning for the neutrality warning tag? Anyone? Beam 02:24, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not positive myself, but it may have been because of some peacock words - I removed most I could find two days ago though. I'll do a bit more work on it today and then remove the tag, the poster can put it back up if they still find a problem with it I suppose. Zanglazor (talk) 20:52, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Support merge. Just do it, Alexandermcnabb, this merge discussion has been open long enough. -- Sam Sailor Talk! 21:28, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Government type

Hello everybody, In the infobox, it's written that it's a absolute monarchy but in the introduction, it's written that it is a constitutional monarchy, according to the personal site of the sultan. So, what it is? --2A02:A03F:16DF:6500:9412:B036:AD5:EA42 (talk) 11:59, 21 May 2017 (UTC) (corrected by Anas1712 (talk) 14:20, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[it's me that write the message, but it's what on a tablet])[reply]
