Improvement

I'm going to take charge of the collaboration here. The current collarboration needs major work and I really enjoyed this novel so I'm going to pick it up. First I'm going to finish laying out the plot section, put in the characters, and create a critical reception section, you can find most of my intentions however and my plans in the summaries of my edits. Please don't delete a bunch of stuff or make major changers without consulting with me and talking about it. This should be a group effort if other people come in, but since I've set up most of the current article and am spearheading attempts to improve it I think I deserve at least that. I'd love second viewpoints in the article, help improving the quality of all the sections and help finishing and getting sources. Good luck in your project! I wish I had the time/energy to help you. This is a great book and deserves more on here. Suggestions: obviously, the Plot section needs to be finished. It just stops. It would be interesting to see a summary of all the "clues" that Elizabeth gave Edgar. Maybe a list of all of Edgars paintings, noting those with "power..." I'm not really sure all of that belongs in here, but it's the sort of thing that I personally look to Wikipedia for. I don't neccessarily know if adding a list of plot elements is a good idea. I already disliked the idea of listing characters, but since it was a popular novel i thought it appropriate. --Robert Waalk (talk) 01:01, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Plot

I added to the plot section, as I felt that it left out a lot of key plot elements. It you can think of a way to improve it or condense it without losing any of the elements, go ahead. Karrmann (talk) 20:48, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

I have slimmed down the plot text a bit. I originally targeted 750 words -- I got it down to 870, which is maybe just a shade long, but there's a lot to condense, notably the two timelines. Gonna keep it here for now. Sskoog (talk) 11:43, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
