Talk:Dorion level crossing accident

Second trains and booms.

Booms have to be installed where there are two or more tracks, because there is always a risk of a second train.

NSW practice is that booms will not rise if a second train is coming and the booms would not be raised for at least 15 seconds.

If the second train is so close that the booms would not be raised for 15 seconds, then the booms will remain down after the passage of the first train until the second (and subsequent) train has passed.

Located three published news stories about the accident. Added appropriate references. Two are available online.

A digital image of the third reference – the entire issue of the paper for that day, in fact – can be accessed through news.google.com, but I can't determine the actual archive location. https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1946&dat=19770309&id=gZAjAAAAIBAJ&sjid=fKEFAAAAIBAJ&pg=2917,2057384&hl=en

All back issues of the Montreal Gazette are on microfiche or similar, but I don't know what I would use as an archive URL for the issue or the news story.

Is this sufficient to remove the warning template?
