I have attempted to provide a layman's view on the Current Reality Tree after noticing the {{context}} flag. Maybe a drawing will also help?-Deepraj | Talk 09:38, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added drawing with hopefully adequate example, nice to see others starting to use it as focus for discussion.

I feel the key difference with a CRT is that it converges from many effects onto one or two causes. This is different to root cause analysis which tends to diverge from a few effects to many causes. Drawing logic is intended to highlight this. Also I've only included elements that I feel are relevant to the context (curing/preventing the symptoms): we can't do anything about gravity; we can't easily change the slope of the driveway or install guardrails; we can quite easily get the handbrake fixed. --Trevithj (talk) 20:32, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are missing premises in the drawing. In order for the radio to "sound distorted", it must be powered, and for this, the battery must be waterproof, or it contradicts with the car being in the pool. -- L.
