Bug's last name

Is "Vijayaraghavensatyanaryanamurthy" his last name, really? I doubt it. Casual Karma 05:17, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, here's what I found for sources:
Notice that there is a one-letter difference between IMDb and TV.com:
Vijayaraghavensatanaryanamurthy (IMDb)
Vijayaraghavensatyanaryanamurthy (TV.com)
Unless a better source comes along, I'd go with IMDb's name, as I trust its cast information more than I do TV.com. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 14:27, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was hit with a thought and actually believe that satyan is correct(and that haven should be havan) because Drs. Vijay Raghavan, Sharma Satyan, K.J. Aryana, and M.R.N. Murthy are all scientists involved in protein and dna research. Karinagw 05:07, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Karina[reply]
Unfortunately, that's unsourced speculation, however logical it might seem. We need reliable sources. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 09:54, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would be more likely to agree with IMDB, however someone may have added the "y" because of the placement there. Notice that it then breaks up the letters "satan". Whoever posted the TV.com info may have had a religious objection to a scientist having the name satan in his name. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.... ~
If you type his last name into a search engine, YouTube will be the first link that comes up. There's a segment where Bug says his last name out loud. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.101.153.174 (talk) 18:15, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Courtesy link to YouTube video. Clearly with y , I'm going to add it to Bug's name. Alexcalamaro (talk) 12:45, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Judy Reyes

Does anyone remember actress Judy Reyes, from the show Scrubs, being in a few of the very first episodes. I think I remember her being a medical examiner in the pilot. However, I don't see any info on this on either her own wiki page or her imdb filmography. Any thoughts? laonoodlekeemow 16:42, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that the actress that I was thinking of was in fact María Celedonio. She is the only Latina name in the pilot episode's cast list. laonoodlekeemow 02:53, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Original premiere date

I clearly recall that Crossing Jordan was originally scheduled to debut on Sept 11, 2001 but obviously was delayed. I can't seem to find an online source for this -- anyone know of one? 23skidoo 15:15, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brooke Smith as Kate Switzer

Many of us half-recognized the actress from the film "Silence of the Lambs" (as the "final" victim, you know, the one who is in the well and threatens the villain's dog...).

She's been on a handful of CJ episodes now, and IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0807548/) lists her in 4 of them (I thought she's been in more, actually). The way her humourously *in*senstive character is being utilized I suspect she'll continue to play an excellent foil to the series' titular sensitive character... So shouldn't she be listed in at least the 'recurring characters' section? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 199.214.24.155 (talk) 18:00, 20 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Boston accent

How come none of the characters have a Boston accent? The only one was the father, but he seems to be missing from the cast now. None of the extras, nor the primary characters have a Boston accent and it pisses me off. lol. I just had to comment because I was looking forward to this show, and liked it at first. But, now I rarely watch it because it is so unbelievable. Even the street people don't have accents. WTH is that? Sometimes seeing the streets is fun, but other than that I can't believe there is not one person who ever appears on the show has no hint of a Boston accent what-so-evah. - Jeeny -talk- 01:59, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Season three

Can anyone shed light on the sequence for episodes in season three? I have been watching them lately, and the order seems to make no sense. The final episode should come first, right after the finale of season two. And there are episodes without Devan that seem to pre-date her arrival, but that come in between ones she is in. Anybody else noticed this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.107.86.199 (talk) 20:25, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looking for help writing an article about the spin-offs and crossovers of this series

I am writing an article about all of the series which are in the same shared reality as this one through spin-offs and crossovers. I could use a little help expanding the article since it is currently extremely dense and a bit jumbled with some sentence structures being extremely repetitive. I would like to be able to put this article into article space soon. Any and all help in writing the article would be appreciated, even a comment or two on the talk page would help. Please give it a read through, also please do not comment here since I do not have all of the series on my watch list. - LA @ 16:28, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jordan's mother

Given how much it factored into a number of episodes, I expected a section summarizing whatever is known about Jordan's mother's murder. I was an occasion viewer, but do not know how (or if) this was finally resolved. Other than the fingerprint mentioned, how was her half-brother involved, etc.? —MJBurrage(TC) 20:26, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Overall plot missing

This article says virtually nothing at all about the overall plot arc and even basic premise of the series; all we're told is that it has to do an M.E. and that the title is a biblical reference (the import of which isn't explained either). — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 09:28, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

See the comment on Borderline Personality, below. The "arc", in a sense, is the extreme behavior of the star. There is no particular religious aspect to the show; oddly enough in a show about death, spirituality is rarely discussed. The phrase "Crossing Jordan" probably was intended in the sense of crossing the river Jordan (Styx) as the article currently suggests, but someone familiar with Borderline Personalities will instantly be aware of another meaning: You "cross" a Borderline Personality at your peril. They can instantly turn furiously angry, even about a small matter, if they decide you are "against them". Jordan's self-absorbed mania is a regular feature of the show. DVD Release

According to the article, "The inability of NBC to secure music rights has prevented the show, which relies heavily on pop music in its soundtrack, from being released on DVD. However on the NBC.com blog, it was announced that this problem may soon[when?] be resolved.[2]" However, season 1 has been release to DVD, although I'm not sure of the release date. I also don't have a good reference handy, but it is available from Netflix. Assuming the other seasons are not yet available, as Netflix has them listed as "Save" rather than currently available rentals. 75.166.170.65 (talk) 03:40, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing that out. I rephrased a bit of it and brought it up to date. I have not heard any even remotely credible rumours about the release of seasons 2-6 on DVD. I don't use Netflix but if seasons 2-6 were available there then that would be something to add into the article. There are bootleg DVDs out there (but most of them claim to have the 100 episodes of season 1-5) however that is not appropriate for the article as the bootlegs have not received media coverage from any reliable sources that i could find. delirious & lost~hugs~ 01:01, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jordan has a Borderline / Marginal Personality disorder

I know two people who are diagnosed as having a Borderline personality disorder. (Also called Marginal Personality Disorder.) To me it seems quite apparent that the lead character Jordan has this disorder, and that it affects much of her behavior. The article currently quotes USA Today as saying, "the absurd quirks Jordan adds to its plot." But they aren't absurd, they are accurate representations of a Borderline Personality. It seems to me the show's creator, Tim Kring, must have deliberately written the part this way, possibly knowing someone with this disorder. Could someone who's a big fan or remembers interviews find some relevant quotable comment?

I feel this is important in the same way that knowing that in "Rain Man", Dustin Hoffman is playing an autistic savant is. Leptus Froggi (talk) 00:07, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
