Animal testing

I created this page and moved content here from the cover girl disambiguation page. Someone had voiced concern there over the accusation of animal testing, so I included their counter point and reference in the text. uriah923(talk) 23:35, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality and Professional Language

I began to edit this page. I have issues with how polished the writing is and whether or not it is neutral. For example, the Awards Won by CoverGirl section does not state what magazine awarded those awards to Cover Girl, or when they did.

CoverGirl has had five award winning products. The face products are the Cheekers Blush that was voted best blush five years in a row and the Outlast Liquid Makeup that was voted best foundation. For the eyes, the Fantastic Lash Mascara was voted primo lash primper. The last two products were the Outlast All Day Lipcolor that was voted best selling lipcolor and the Continuous Color Nails that had been voted to be the best beauty buy. Along with these award winning products, CoverGirl has many other products at inexpensive prices. These affordable products are available at CVS, Eckerd, K-Mart, Target, Ulta, Walgreens, and Wal Mart.

Christie Brinkley

I removed the comment by 72.54.150.182. It was a ridiculous level of advertising for any site, let alone an encyclopedia article.

Re: the article: it states Christie Brinkley was the first face of Cover Girl. This may not be true, depending on your definition of "face of Cover Girl". Both Cybill Sheperd and Cheryl Tiegs had long-term contracts with Cover Girl that preceded Christie Brinkley's, and their commercials are readily available on YouTube. Is the author suggesting Christie was the first model, the first long-term model, or the first exclusive model (meaning her contract excluded any other advertising work) for Cover Girl? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.231.196.195 (talk • contribs) 20:58, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I removed: "The company diversified its product line, and Brinkley's 20-year contract with CoverGirl was the longest in the history of the modeling industry.[1]." Brinkley's 20-year contract cannot be longer than the easily verified 30 years that Jennifer O'Neill was a Cover Girl. Mention of Brinkley's 20-year relationship with the company remains in the Celebrities section.

I removed: (Christie Brinkley) "was the first model for CoverGirl[citation needed], and" since this is disproved a number of times in this article, and I just added another.

CoverGirl → Covergirl – This is a stylization issue, as I feel that it is one word and the "G" does not need to be capitalized. JE98 (talk) 01:50, 11 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
