Talk:Copper-clad steel

From WikiProjectMed
Jump to navigation Jump to search

From my own limited research, it seems that copper-clad steel is recyclable in large quantities by companies such as Noranda Recycling Inc. and a call to a local scrap dealership informed me that they buy copper-clad steel, although only at the same rate as steel in small quantities.

More precisions with regards to its effectiveness agaisnt theft would be greatly appreciated.

inpedance

I use CCS all the time in ham radio for antennas. At high freq it really does not matter what the core of the wire is. HF currnt flows across the skin.

Clarify use in CATV

Copper clad steel is used for the center conductor of CATV coax such as RG-6, RG-11, and RG-59. These small cables carry CATV signals within buildings and from the building to the pole-mounted distribution hardline. The hardline inner conductor is copper clad aluminum. —Ryan 07:41, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
