Early comment

subversion library version

This should show which version of the subversion library the client links against--that would provide, however indirectly, a good overview of the capabilities of the client. Mohrr (talk) 11:04, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Meld on Microsoft Windows OS

I doubt the fact Meld runs on Windows. Meld has no installation notice for Windows OS. Cybersapien (talk) 09:59, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Not a feature matrix

this is not a Comparison of Subversion clients as the title would lead one to believe.

It is only a list of tools.

What kind of client

(Rewriting my comment here as nobody had replied) The article is not very clear on what is meant by a client. The correct information is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_Subversion#Layers and in the manual http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.5/svn-book.pdf. Wikivek (talk) 17:42, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Client File Size

The comparison is lack of a column: total file size of the installation/package, which is an important factor of portability. Some people needs to set up lots of SVN on different, clean locations. Also, please consider mentioning if the software itself is "Green", or OS-Installation-unrelated. Chenxiaoqino (talk) 13:00, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

Date column is not sortable by date

The format of the template used in the date column is not amenable to sorting by date. Rather than use the "start date and age" template, just changing to YYYY-MM-DD format would give all the information needed, would be sortable, and would be easy to accomplish. Missing a date column

In the table there is the version number but there is not a "Last stable release Date" that is a quite decent approximation of how 'alive' is the tool. Eventually I will start to add it... ALoopingIcon (talk) 15:14, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

The dates in their current format don't sort well, so I can't just sort on release dates to see which are the most current ones. Almo2001 (talk) 20:14, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Merge from SmartSVN

@RoySmith, Hasteur, and 50.126.125.240: I just went to merge SmartSVN, which was closed as merge to this article a couple weeks ago, but found that it was already listed and I wasn't sure what else to add without being undue given a comparison article. Looking at the existing table, I agree that there's probably not anything really worth merging that's not already there. If you wanted to just do a redirect without any real merge, I would have no objection. I had not realized before that this article links to individual articles for most of the clients. To be honest, I doubt most of them justify their own articles, but that's an argument for another time and another AfD. -- RoySmith (talk) 21:06, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks. I wasn't really thinking when I posted this to begin with, though. I should've also asked about what we think the inclusion criteria of the list is. For most software-related articles (and most lists on Wikipedia) it's that each entry has to have its own article (since, for example, Wikipedia is WP:NOT a software directory that has lists of every piece of software that exists for a given category). If that were the case, then merge doesn't really work to begin with. Thoughts? I would support establishing that inclusion criteria, but won't put up a fight if you/others feel that decision should wait. --— Rhododendrites talk \\ 22:27, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
One important piece of information that did not get merged is a link to the SmartSVN website. Most of the other products have a stub article that has a link to their website. I expect that there was at least a little malice afoot in deciding to get rid of the stub page for a commercial product and leave the stub pages for less important open-source products. Secondly, it is terribly confusing that the link that should take you to the stub article for SmartSVN just takes you back to this same page. What is "standalone"?

TortoiseSVN is more than a Windows Explorer Add-On

This page makes it look like TortoiseSVN is just a few pieces of functionality that can be reached from Windows Explorer.
It is true that one invokes TortoiseSVN from Windows Explorer (or by right-clicking on the Windows Desktop), but the TortoiseSVN RepoBrowser is a rich stand-alone GUI that offers a lot of functionality. Preceding unsigned comment added by Tgeliot (talk) 16:34, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
