Is this term CER used outside the USA
Is this just a political phrase used in the USA or does it have wider use ? - Rod57 (talk) 08:15, 28 April 2016 (UTC)
- I agree that in practice your suggestion is correct. The `CER' terminology adds nothing except the convenience of being able to talk about supposedly policy-relevant research in evidence based medicine while avoiding talk about costs, which is for some reason seen as heinous by many American policymakers. Then by avoiding talk about costs the research ceases to be policy-relevant anyway. The term cost-effectiveness analysis (and economic evaluation more broadly) has long been used outside the USA.
