The scope of this article

Why does the article contain information about water chestnut cake? They seem to be completely different. Am I missing something here? Jolly Ω Janner 09:10, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The lead sentence and source addresses your query. Hope that helps. 7&6=thirteen () 15:16, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It is cited to a book that says "[it] does not resemble a Western cake at all". It only ever refers to the term of "water chestnut cake" Jolly Ω Janner 15:54, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Reworked the lead paragraph to show the fork. Hope our article's creator approves. 7&6=thirteen () 16:20, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your edits. Maybe NorthAmerica can shed some light on the scope of the article. I'm still just as confused as when I started this topic. Jolly Ω Janner 20:07, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
They share a common name. I didn't create the article in the first place. Only reviewed it for the DYK. 7&6=thirteen () 20:10, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Water chestnut is a completely different plant from chestnut, despite the similar name. And water chestnut cake has a different origin and uses different ingredients from chestnut cake, and should not be covered in this article. A hatnote would suffice. -Zanhe (talk) 22:56, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
