Very famous college with start article only Victuallers 19:22, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How is the relevant? P0mbal (talk) 11:18, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is the wrong logo. The correct logo can be found Here: http://www.cheltladiescollege.org/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wilkinsonm (talkcontribs) 07:52, 5 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Uniform

I removed this comment about the school's uniform, which I thought was highly inappropriate;

It is the most disgusting and heinous display of clothing ever to have graced this earth.

Excessive praise

Much of this reads like an advertisment! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.77.245.74 (talk) 22:45, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Let's rename this article 'Shameless Praise for this School'. Then we'll all be clear of what this article consists of. - 58.152.141.158 (talk) 11:23, 4 January 2008 (UTC)simplicityho[reply]

Constructive comments would be better than sarcasm. P0mbal (talk) 11:20, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Clothes

I was interested to read that 'There are occasional days for charity when girls are allowed to wear their own clothes' Do they normally wear other people's? ♦ Jongleur100 talk 13:18, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ha ha!! Very funny. I have changed this to 'There are occasional days for charity when girls are allowed to wear their own choice of clothes', which is clearly what is meant. P0mbal (talk) 20:24, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Princess of Baroda

One must have more than good faith about this entry. Browsing the web, one finds Baroda connections with the school, but least name the princess, else the entry has no value. P0mbal (talk) 22:07, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

11th Duchess of Bedford

The 11th Duchess of Bedford is Mary Russell, Duchess of Bedford, see her wikipedia article. If this is the same lady, please clarify where the information is from that she went to the school. P0mbal (talk) 11:16, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

Fixed the inspection reports links. I took down the Cleanup tag, but here's what's needed to improve this article:

  • Please verify each RED wikilink under Guild - were they ever blue? Fix them or unlink them.
  • Every adjective or adverb must be vetted.
  • "Virtually every girl goes on" - let's see some numbers.
  • "Large and successful" - these are claims which require substantiation. The numbers speak for themselves, trim down to that.
  • "A number of" - well, don't keep us guessing, what are the numbers?
  • Try, where sensible, to use gender neutral language. Use "student" - it's established that they're girls - we get it.

"and day"

WP:VERIFIABILITY - the school is documented as being both board and day. As soon as the school's website removes its "day" classification, it can be removed here. --Lexein (talk) 20:09, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cost

The claim "The Cheltenham Ladies' College is the most expensive public school in the UK to date according to the Tatler Schools Guide 2011" was correctly deleted. Although Tatler shows that TCLC is the most expensive boarding school, 16 other schools charge higher day fees. --Lexein (talk) 10:58, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Horlick

Nicola Horlick was at the Ladies' College, but ran away at the age of 15 and was taken out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.27.63.85 (talk) 11:12, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Definite article

Is there any good reason why the definite article appears in this articles's title ("The Cheltenham Ladies' College")? It's not used in the body of the article, it's not used (as far as I can see) by CLC itself, and it's certainly not in common usage. Unless somebody wants to justify it here, I propose moving this article to Cheltenham Ladies' College. Eric Pode lives (talk) 22:14, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
