Does anyone know the proper spelling of Hennigan's first name? Half the sources I see have it Charlie while the other half say Charley. --Cholmes75 13:55, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Page name

I've noticed that there's a conflict with Hennigan's nickname, some sources say Charlie, as the Tennessee Titans and the Northwestern State Demons does. But his NFL profile and PFR bio says Charley.

I think is better to use Charley, because is the one that NFL and PFR uses. So I suggest a name change to @Eagles247, @Hey man im josh or any admin that is able to change the titles. Sergio Skol (talk) 02:07, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sergio Skol: What did they use at the time? Have we checked newspaper sources by any chance? Hey man im josh (talk) 12:10, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
TBH I have no clue, as you can see in the "Untitled" topic above, this problem has been there for, at least, 18 years ago. The only newspaper I've found is this one, but there says Charles. So we could use Charles as well. Or what do you think 'bout?

Edit: The newspaper uses Charlie as well.

Using Newspapers.com, there are 11,000 results for "Charlie" and 10,000 results for "Charley". I was expecting a huge difference and I'm surprised the results are nearly evenly split. I'd avoid changing the article title in this instance but add a note that "Charley" is also how it is commonly spelled. In this case, a Requested Move should be started as well. I also thought it was the best thing. Keep title as Charlie and say something like, "also known as Charley" in the article's top. Sergio Skol (talk) 15:27, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
