WP:LEAD

This article needs a better/fuller overview of the entire article in the Lead. I attempted to add some information, but would someone who is more familiar with the subject please add more summary information about the most important points in the article to the introduction? Sutton Valence

Sir Charles Groves was a pupil at Sutton Valence School, in Kent, from 1930 until 1932 before he went on to the Royal College of Music. The school now has its Music School named after him I believe he performed the 'opening ceremony' I'll check this out.

His name appears in the book that the school has showing the names and addresses of all its pupils and the school magazines of the time refer in its pages to some of his exploits. I'd like to edit the main page accordingly but it isfar too complicated for a technophobe like me. Is there anyone who can help?

I have made the relevant changes, citing the references I found through google. I didn't see anything about the music school being named after him or anything relating to an opening ceremony from my brief search. If you can provide links to external sites providing that information someone will probably add the information.

Can you provide more information as to the exploits mentioned in the school magazines?

I'm intrigued as to how he was brought up, the main Wikipedia article states he was orphaned at age 10 and I assume he spent subsequent years being resident at the schools he attended. You mention you have a book with the names and addresses of pupils, can you give any information to who brought him up? e.g. was he a permanent resident of your school or is his previous school, an institution, or a residential address specified?

I'm interested in whether the music hall was named Groves Hall when it was first built? In the reference from Sutton Valence Music Society they state that the society previously used the school hall, but there is no date for when Groves Hall was built or when it was named.
