Re: the album cover

I doubt it will last long under "fair use" as there is no critical commentary on the recording in the article, apart from saying it's the only professional recording and listing the cast. Nor is it essential for identifying the actual subject of the article, and in terms of illustration, adds very little. I'd suggest using free images for the article instead, like one of Gustave Doré's illustrations of Perrault's story: Image:Cendrillon2.JPG, Image:Cendrillon1.JPG and/or the composer: Image:Pauline Viardot-Garcia 3.jpg. I had the same some of the same concerns as well, I figured why not try it out and see if any other editors have issues, especially considering that are no free images whatsoever that are in any way directly related to this opera. Thanks for the input, I swapped out the image for the portrait of Viardot. Mister Senseless (Speak - Contributions) 03:19, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I personally don't have any issues with the album image. I'm just speaking from personal experience of having such images removed from articles I've written. It's always a bit of a lottery as to whether the admins take a hard line. Some do and some don't.;-) Best, Voceditenore (talk) 08:13, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
