No mention of the Carry On Films?

I think this article is incomplete :) 84.9.98.2 12:46, 21 May 2007 (UTC) And don't forget " Humans are Eaters of Carrion " — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.59.74.18 (talk) 02:07, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have any references in order to cite this claim? If so, it should then be included in the article. Mark Halsey 18:55, 22 December 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Markhalsey (talkcontribs)

Factual errors

Someone added that flying squirrels are carrion eaters. That sounds quite wrong to me. Niels E (talk) 13:22, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I didn’t see any mention of this in the article, albeit your comment was made in 2009, and I am now commenting in 2017. Anyhow, is there factual basis to cite this, which proves or disproves this mention? Mark Halsey 18:57, 22 December 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Markhalsey (talkcontribs)

Carrion is carcass?

The wording that carrion is the carcass of a dead animal seems very redundant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.238.71.162 (talk) 04:42, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More specifically that it's a carcass that's being used as a source of food, or scavenged. 98.221.141.21 (talk) 05:56, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Charon

I was wondering if anyone knows if the ferryman's name Charon, is also a root of the modern word carrion. I understand it is considered to be from the Latin word for meat but thought the two histories of the words interesting. 165.212.191.171 (talk) 16:47, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The term carrion comes from Latin, caro, for meat. I did some reading on the etymology of the word, there is no mention of Charon. Mark Halsey 18:59, 22 December 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Markhalsey (talkcontribs)
