Split from Carbohydrate

The synthetic chemistry of carbohydrates does not currently have any articles associated with it. Some sections of the carbohydrate article mention issues (such as non-natural sugars, and glycosidic bond formation) but do not discuss the specific chemistry of this area. I'd like to get this page started to nucleate some more specific articles on sub-area of carbohydrate chemistry. More new pages to follow as this starts to come together. --Glycoform (talk) 00:46, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Functions of carbohydrates

Is this section relevant here? The article is about the chemistry of these molecules, and the biochemistry and biological roles are addressed in pages on Carbohydrates and Carbohydrate metabolism. Any objections to striking this and/or replacing it with references to these articles? Glycoform (talk) 16:36, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
